Free as a Jay Bird

This was how Matty celebrated Memorial Day this weekend. And well, life in general I guess: stripping himself down naked as a jay bird and running through the sprinkler in the backyard.
To quote Ben, how many times in life do you get to really be that free.

Love that Caroline takes such great pics that I get to swipe off her website!
Here are more pics of our fun family day with Thomas the Tank Engine!

Sweet boys can't wait to get their hands on some farm animals!

Matty runs from goat to goat!

Love this pic of Matty and Jake feeding the goats! They squealed with delight when they ate out of their hands!

A Day with Thomas!

So glad we have friends like Brian and Caroline who do these fun things with their kids and invite us to come along! Must admit I would not have thought to set my alarm at 6AM on a Sunday and drive to Chattanooga to see a giant replica Thomas the Tank Engine! But that is what we did today and I am glad we did. Despite the sheer exhaustion that set in towards the end of the day, Matty and Jakers had a blast.

The petting zoo, the jump house, the ride on the real life choo-choo train, the slushies, the ice cream, the photo session with Sir Topham Hatt...what a packed and memorable day!

The boys loved the petting zoo with their Daddies! The animals ate right out of their hand. I almost had too close an encounter with a goat horn that really would have smarted had it been any harder!

The train ride was really neat and the boys really got a kick out of the whistle and watching the steam as we chugged along.

After the train ride, the boys relaxed in the shade with some red slushies.

And this was Matty on our way to lunch. Sadly, this was all he slept today.

Recent Fun

I realize I haven't posted any pictures of Matty since his birthday party. So here is some of what we've been up to since then.

After Matty's party, Ben had to go back to New Jersey to put a nice little bow on Seabox, which he did and we are thrilled to say he is home 100% now! Such a great feeling to be a family again! But the weekend after Matty's party the two of us were on our own so we went to Macon for what's becoming a bit of a tradition, the Fired Works Pottery show which I love! This was taken out front of the show. For sale but we resisted.

Then afterwards, Ginny Wall had been telling us we had to take Matty to the train yards, so we finally figured out where that was, were told to "just disregard the 'No Trespassing' signs" and Matty had a great time seeing the trains being moved around the yard. He even was honked at by an engineer who waved and put on a good show for his three-year old spectator.

Here are a few pics of Matty's Easter Party at school. I think he had fun having both parents representing!

Colin Finger's 2nd birthday was last weekend and it was a great preview for what we did today! See Thomas the Tank Engine in Chatanooga! They boys were so excited, they thought this was the event we had bought tickets for and had been waiting for for months!

Julianna might have a hard time waiting 20 years for her first legal sip...
