Fire Station Fun

Oh, what a fun weekend we had! Saturday was Davis MacIsaac's 3rd Birthday party, and what a time! The kids got a first-class tour the Vinings' Fire Station by genuine firemen! The firemen were so wonderful with the kids, so patient and really seemed to enjoy them as much as the kids enjoyed running around the station and banging on, climbing in, and screaming near the awesome fire trucks!

These pics are courtesy of Caroline as you know her pics are always way better than mine! I totally swiped these from her site. I will see what I managed to take and upload them if I feel they can even compete!

After our tour we headed back to Burger Club for cake, tater tots and of course, more play. Matty sometimes reminds me of Forrest Gump: "from that day on, if I was goin' somewhere, I was RUNNING!" I swear that child ran over every inch of Burger Club and at one point tried to make his way behind the bar. I almost started taking orders!

This might just be my favorite pic of these BFFs ever. I can hear their giggles when I look at their sweet faces.

After the party, Caroline invited Matty and I to their church and the live nativity they had. In classic Leslie fashion though I didn't manage to get quite everything in the car when we left the party! Sort of glad she snapped this pic. It was too funny to forget!

The nativity was very cool. The boys were awfully amped up on cake and party fun and kept the Mommies running around while we were there! There were sheep, an alpaca, a duck, hen, donkey. I think Matty and Jake thought they were being helpful and feeding the animals when really they were just throwing straw on the animals. And once Matty threw a stick at the duck. Only nicked his tail but still probably not the best snack the duck could have asked for.

My only thing, and I am really not a huge germ-aphobe, but I think Matty's hands got a little too close to the alpaca's back door a few times. We ended the trip with some yummy sugar cookies, but not before we doused them in Purell!

More Video Fun

Since it's been a while since I posted videos and I figured out how to get them off my phone, here's more Matty cuteness.

This was in Ben's apartment in New Jersey. A long awaited 'hello' between Matty and Ben soon exploded into tons of Daddy-Son fun, and a major Buzz Lightyear imitation.

Ok first off, let me address the paci. Point one, this is months old and point two, if you were stuck in a car for 10+ hours a week with a trapped toddler desperately trying to escape his car seat you might just resort to it too every once in a while. Beside that, this is terribly cute.

Hellooooooo!

So this was too fun not to post.

If you have ever watched "Toy Story" and left it sitting on the main menu screen a little too long before pressing 'play', you would notice the little green alien's looking at you and pointing to the play button and saying "helloooooo," as to prompt you to get off your rump and start the movie.

Guess I've sat idle at that screen a few too many times.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh what a fun Thanksgiving this was this year. We were in Austin for the break and enjoyed each moment of it. Lots of rest, laughter, great food, drink and company! We just took it easy and enjoyed the much needed break from everything.
Matty played in his "Oh My Goodness" house, in the fountain out back, with his duck pond, got soaked at least once and hour and spent half the trip changing into dry clothes! What fun! He played his little heart out, chasing the starlings in the back yard, searching for his "present turtle" who surprises him with a treat every morning, and reminding Beau why it's good to be an only child when you can!

As you can see there was lost of chiling going on. Resting, napping and being total vegetables when we could. Us girls were drinking by this time, flipping through catalogs and watching junk on TV. Equally as enjoyable!

Patsy cooked up a mean feast for everyone! Ham and turkey, rolls and sweet potatoes that would make you slap your mama, 2 different pies (including a pumpkin pie Craig handmade), tarts and of course we had to top the trip off with some Overmiller's Iced Tea. Cherry bounce with an added sophistication when it's served in crystal!

Happy (Very Belated!) Halloween

Well it seems almost too long ago to remember now but we did have a wonderful Halloween! Just in time for Christmas it seems I am finally posting pictures of our Trick-Or-Treating fun from many weeks ago. Ben was able to come home, and I know he was so grateful he did. This was a very special Halloween as it was Matty's first to go trick-or-treating by himself! Dressed as a very scary dinosaur, he showed off his "ROAR" to many a stranger!

Every year our neighborhood has a party down the street. A hayride rounds the circle, the kids eat pizza and yummy desserts, the parents get a few free cocktails in their guts and everyone starts off on their candy hunt at the same time. It's a very special holiday on Colston Road. Houses are wildly decorated and candy bowls are left outside if parents are out with their kids. The parents whose kids have left home, put out bars and fire pits in front of their houses and it's a party in the street!

This was the first house we went to. Matty handled himself like an ol' pro.

This house's candy bowl had a skeleton hand in it. Matty was working on his bravery with this house and refused to leave 'til it didn't scare him anymore!

We finished the evening stopping for candy on our own porch!
